This delightful farmhouse is situated in the perfect location for those seeking either a relaxing break or an active ‘randonne’ in the magnificent Aude/Ariege regions. It has been recently refurbished, the beamed ceilings have been restored, and offers ample accommodation for 6 people. It is situated next to the owners' accommodation in the small hamlet of Le Berrugat which is at least 300 years old. Details
This is an excellent region with forests and large lakes; white water rafting and canoeing, fishing, horse riding, karting and golf are all nearby. Also nearby are towns which offer classical and pop music, ballet, art exhibitions ..... Important buildings nearby include the Cite of Carcassonne ( featured in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves), Montsegur and many other old castles. Rennes le Chateau with its mysterious past (featured on television) is also nearby.
The beautiful scenery and duty free delights of Andorra and the thermal baths of Llo are also nearby and make a full day's outing. (There are plenty of other thermal baths in the region - this is our favourite). Even a visit to Barcelona is possible!
After a hard day of sightseeing, imagine returning to your own home, having a glass of wine and lying by the pool or enjoying a sumptuous barbeque.
